History
Established in 1997, Bond Joseph has developed as a leading criminal defence practice in Kent and has a reputation for committed and thorough defence work. We represent, on a daily basis, those facing all criminal allegations in the Police stations and courts in Kent from arrest to trial and appeal.
With offices in Canterbury and Walderslade we are able to provide this County wide service. Whether faced with allegations of theft or murder, Bond Joseph provide an expert criminal defence service to all of its clients.

Eligible for Legal Aid?
Bond Joseph is a specialist and experienced criminal law firm that has been awarded a contract by the Legal Services Commission to provide publicly funded criminal defence services. We also have a strong reputation for providing effective and proactive criminal defence work.
Much of the type of work that we undertake, is paid for by the Legal Aid Agency. Ultimately the aim is to ensure everyone in the community has access to justice and that those who cannot afford to defend themselves, are assisted by the Government.
However, the Government will not pay for every type of work or for every client. Those who do not qualify for financial assistance with their fees, will have to pay some or all of them personally.
Any person who is arrested and taken to a police station, will automatically qualify for free legal advice. Bond Joseph are available to attend a Police station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you are charged with a criminal offence we will make an application to the Court for a Legal Aid Order to cover the costs of preparing and conducting your defence.
If you are not eligible for Legal Aid, or opt for our PRIVATE AID service, you can take advantage of additional benefits, such as round-the-clock direct contact with your designated lawyer. Whilst the pressures of legally-aided cases increase, due to continual cuts in government funding, our PRIVATE AID service can be tailored to meet your needs and adapted to suit your available funding.
MAGISTRATES COURT PROCEEDINGS
The Lawyers at Bond Joseph have, for over 30 years, been representing clients in Magistrates’ Courts across the County and beyond on a daily basis.
CROWN COURT PROCEEDINGS
Bond Joseph provide representation to clients at both Canterbury and Maidstone Crown court on a regular basis.
